Pietro Rosa TBM feeds from progressive and continuous evolution in manufacturing methodologies along with the relevant and necessary upgrade of production technologies required to be at the forefront of manufacturing today. This requires huge investments in research and development that the company has to face.
The company has been supported on several occasions by financial contributions from the Regional Administration (POR- Regional Operational Programme) deriving monies from the European Financing Programme (European Fund for Regional Development).
On this occasion, Pietro Rosa TBM has secured one of the primary financial contributions assigned by the Regional Administration to private organizations for the European Financing.
Financial support of € 1.236 million was used for Pietro Rosa TBM’s project called “Tesi” aiming to develop new technologies and integrated systems for the production of large aero-structural components. This led to the realization of several new products including complex components for power transmission systems.
Francesco Parisi, the Company’s General Manager stated: “The research investments supported by funds derived from Europe would have been carried out even without external funding as they are the lifeblood of our success, but, the European Funding system is extremely beneficial in getting ahead of the technology curve more rapidly and securing our position as leader in our specialist field of manufacturing.
We have again applied for a financial contribution for our project called “Titan” within the new funding programme. This project is part of our continuous evolution in developing class leading production methods of critical components used in aero engine gas turbines. “Titan” in particular is aimed at developing titanium blades, which are used extensively in aero gas turbines and require significant technological steps forward when compared to the production of steel blades.
As with all externally derived financial support it appears to be a bit complicated when it comes to the necessary accounting statements for the project, but thanks to the internal resources and to the support of external professionals we have learnt how to deal with it adequately and appropriately.
We are now waiting for the evaluation of the Regional Administration to know if the project will be part of the funding programme, which we of course hope for. This will be of enormous help on our next step in our advancement in technology and exciting journey into the future”.
