Pietro Rosa TBM doubles Aerospace & Defense R&D budget with the support of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s Regional Government

Maniago (PN), Italy – Pietro Rosa TBM is proud to announce the doubling of its Aerospace & Defense R&D budget over the next three years with the goal of introducing innovative solutions in the engineering and production of complex titanium aircraft components.

As part of the execution of these activities, Pietro Rosa TBM will partner with other leading companies for Intelligent Manufacturing Systems within the confines of a project named “TITAN”.  The budget that Pietro Rosa TBM has allocated for “Titan” approaches € 1 Mio and the European Fund for Regional Development (FESR)  (L. R. 14/2015 POR FESR 2014-2020 –1.3.a) has granted nearly 30% of the total amount.

Chief of Technology for Pietro Rosa Group, Andrea Maurizio commented that: “The ‘Titan Pilot Cell’ (TPC) will be a unique example in the hot forging industry, representing the first fully automated integrated forging cell equipped with on-line monitoring system effectively creating a ‘smart factory’ often referred to as ‘Industry 4’. In parallel with the detailed analysis of the hot forging process that will constitute the core of the scientific analysis there will the requirement for several interdisciplinary studies to seamlessly encapsulate the entire process required. The project will be complemented by virtual simulation tools, advanced design techniques and integrated software control algorithms.”

The General Manager of Pietro Rosa TBM, Francesco Parisi also commented: “The project Titan is a strategic R&D program for Pietro Rosa Group securing yet another step forward in being ahead of the competition between aerospace forgers.
